Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Paul Revere’s Ride

(Paul Revere, (1735–1818) was an American silversmith and revolutionary. On 18th April, 1775 , he rode out to warn the people of Massachusetts that the British troops were on the march. On the following morning the first shots of the American Revolution were fired at Lexington .)

VAT came into force on 1st April 1973 , replacing purchase tax and selective employment tax. It gave a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘April Fool’ (n. person successfully tricked on 1st April).
