Garden Club

The Christmas Party at the New Inn, Clifford Chambers was much enjoyed by twenty-four members who, after an excellent turkey or pork dinner, managed to double themselves up enough to play skittles with (we hope) little adverse effect.

We came back to earth again in January when Les Tooly delighted us with a talk, and with his own excellent slides of rare British wild flowers.  These included no less than fifteen orchids, photographed from John O'Groats to Lands End.  A treat for the twenty members who turned out on a particularly rotten evening.

The next meeting will be on Thursday February 19th, when Mr. J. Clews of the R.S.P.B. will be at the Village Hall at 7.30 p.m. to speak on "Action for Birds".  If birds (of the feathered variety) are your particular interest do please come and join us.

Myrtle Knight.
