Tysoe Marionette Group

We have been quiet of late, but there is much activity in the Barn Theatre following the addition of three more enthusiasts to our group which now numbers ten.  Sheila Jones from Ratley became so involved with the little characters as she painted their faces that she has now become a manipulator helping to bring them to life.  Kay Medlin, from Tysoe has meticulously painted a large signboard, whilst her son Liam, technically inclined, has been entrusted with running the lighting board.  He has plenty to go at with 25 control circuits and 80 cues!

Roy McLeod has painted a most realistic theatre set for Scene 3.  Rob Batley’s 1920’s Renault car now has its paint job and Mouche has leather seats to sit on.  Practical lamp posts are under construction, and Onion’s bicycle has been commissioned.

We are learning a great deal from Dermot, Margaret and Paddy of O’Brien Puppets, professional puppeteers from Ettington, who have kindly attended a number of our Thursday rehearsals as advisers.

Our dramatisation of Paul Gallico’s

“LOVE OF SEVEN DOLLS”

 is scheduled for

 Friday 11th & Saturday 12th November

 and

 Friday 25th & Saturday 26th November

 at 7:30pm.
