Vicky's Bus

Before Vicky Hopkins died just over eighteen months ago, she particularly wanted to do something for the village and area that were her and her family's home.

Her wish focused on helping the many residents that have no transport of their own and providing some form of transport for school and local youngsters' organisations.

Following a successful fund raising campaign a seventeen seat mini bus was purchased and is operated by local volunteers.  The bus provides transport to a wide range of local groups, such as the Youth Group, Pre-School, School, W.I., etc., and is also available to any individual resident of Tysoe, Oxhill and Whatcote.

The bus is operated under a non-profit Trust and trustees and volunteers look after the administration, servicing, etc., and those who use the bus are asked to make a "user contribution" donation.

Use of Vicky's Bus has been pretty good in its first year and we are just about on budget to cover operating costs but the more it is used the more likelihood we can continue, - so don't forget its your "community bus" and you can use it for a small donation.

Reservations can be made through either Jan Rumke on 01295 680587 or Graham Hicks on 01295 680164.
