Garden Club

The November meeting was an excellent example of how much better and more fun it is to see things done live rather than from books or from the television.  Lilian Welsby and Anne Nethercleft demonstrated between them the making of Christmas wreaths, garlands and table arrangements.  They had obviously done a considerable amount of preparation for the evening and the ‘here’s one I did earlier’ examples were stunning.  As experienced practitioners they managed to persuade us that we could also do it and I for one can’t wait to have a go.

It’s been a hands-on month for the club in other ways as well and many thanks go to Reg Gethin, Myrtle Knight and Dot Richards in particular for all their hard work in the planning and preparation of the Old Chapel Garden – see elsewhere in The News.

There is no formal meeting in December; instead we (and guests) meet at Bilton Cottage, Church Lane on Thursday December 13th at 7 p.m. for a Christmas Gathering.
