News from the Peacock

Time has certainly flown by this year and we are delighted at the support we have received from you all.  We are so pleased to announce that with your help over the last 6 months we have raised a massive £1307.80 for Air Ambulance.  We shall continue in 2009 to support Air Ambulance with our monthly Quiz’s and other events.

We are also delighted to tell you that we have won “Country Pub of the Year 2009” from the Shires magazine, the award will officially be announced in the February issue.  So 2 awards in our first year is brilliant!  However it will not change the fact that we are still and will always be a local village Pub welcoming everyone including families and our four legged friends, we just happen to like serving good food as well!   We have never wanted to be labelled a “Gastro” Pub!

We have some special New Years offers – including being featured in the Times dine out from £5 (vouchers from the Times news paper and downloadable; terms and conditions apply.)  We have another tempting offer for evenings during January; from Monday to Thursday you can choose 2 courses from the blackboard for £12.50 per person.

January will also be our  first birthday and we plan to celebrate on Friday 30th with Live Music.  Watch the blackboard for announcements of band.

Our Quiz returns on Sunday 11th January with our resident quiz master Robin, or as he has been christened “General Rob Dog Bizzle Quizzle”!  £5 for a team of 4 ( £1 goes to Air Ambulance the rest to the prize fund).  After that  they will be on the first Sunday of every month i.e. Feb 1st.

So all that remains is to thank you all for helping us achieve so much in our first year and for making us so welcome.

We wish you all a very happy New Year.

Yvonne and Pam
