Cantamus in Cherington Tuesday 10th February There will be an opportunity to hear Shipston’s a cappella choir, conducted by Richard Emms, sing the very beautiful Four-part Mass by William Byrd on Tuesday 10 February at 7.30 p.m. in St John the Baptist Church, Cherington. This will be a liturgical performance within a Communion Service taken by the Revd Richard Smith. For lovers of unaccompanied singing this is a must! Byrd was the foremost composer during the reigns of Elizabeth I and James I and ranked as one of the most individual and inspired composers of the late Renaissance period.
