Photographic Competition

The Oxhill Parish Biodiversity Action Plan Group (OWLS) is hosting a photographic competition which is open to Oxhill residents of all ages.  Our objective is to encourage us all to look more closely at the village in which we live, not only as a habitat for plants and wild animals, but also as a home for us humans, too!

There are two categories and prizes for three age groups: 10 and under, 11 to 18 and adults.

Category 1 - nature & wildlife.  This can include any nature photos such as birds, plants, insects, waterlife, wildflowers and trees.  The photos can be taken anywhere in the UK, but must not include landscapes.

Category 2 – Oxhill; a wonderful place to live.  The only rule is that photos must be taken in the parish of Oxhill! Photos can be of people, buildings, landscapes, winter snow scenes – they can be funny, serious and even abstract!

Photos can be taken in any format – digital/film, colour or black and white – and must be submitted as prints which are no larger than A5 in size.  Each entry will cost 50p and there is no limit to the number of entries you can submit.

The closing date is the end of September and we are planning to hold an exhibition in October, with prizes being awarded (hopefully!) by a celebrity photographer.  The photo judged to be ‘best in show’ will feature on the front cover of the Oxhill news (better than the front cover of the Radio Times!) and a selection of pictures will also be posted on the OWLS website: www.oxhill-owls.org.uk

So, dig out your cameras and get clicking.  Entries should be submitted to Rhian Cooper, Weavers Barn, Rouse Lane, Oxhill, Warwickshire CV35 0NZ.  Please write your name and age category on the back of each print and give each photo a title.

This site is maintained by villagers of Oxhill for the benefit of the community and those interested in the history, news and activities that make the village such a pleasant place to live.
