Italy come to Shipston

There will be an unusual and exciting event in Shipston on Stour on Friday 2nd October – an Italian speciality produce market!

‘Italia in Piazza’ is a traditional Italian Food Market, run by entrepreneur Simon Faro, comprising 18 gazebos decorated with the smart “Tricolore” Italian flag.  There will be a wide variety of foods on sale, imported directly from Italy, including a vast array of cheeses and cured meats, a wonderful selection of the classic Cremona Torrone (nougat), cakes, sweets and a variety of biscuits.  The market will also feature a range of eclectic olive oils and balsamic vinegars and a selection of olives, as well as different shapes and sizes of pasta and speciality breads.

Simon (born in England of Italian parents, and steeped in the Italian qualities of taste and tradition) says, “Our market is unique because it’s wholly owned and staffed by my partners and me.  This not only gives it an appealing ‘branded’ look, but also guarantees consistent quality of produce that is sold with professional tips and advice to make sure you are happy with your choices.”

Shipston Town Council and ‘Italia in Piazza’ look forward to welcoming residents from surrounding villages to this interesting market.
