Wot2Grow Community Orchard

The hay crop has been taken and the orchard looks very different with most of the bushes and canes having survived the difficult weather conditions and growing well.  There are some small fruits on the currants but the raspberries are still to flower, so we are not expecting a large harvest!

Weeding has been done to keep the ground clear around the young plants, to give them plenty of room and to cut down on competition, especially for water.

Planning for the autumn planting of fruit trees has been taking place and we have reserved apples, plums, pears, cherries and nuts.  We will not know if we can get all the trees we want until later when the growers allocate their stock and let us know if they have sufficient trees to go around, then we will wait for delivery in October/November.
