Tysoe Tennis Club

Team news

The Ladies A team managed to draw their last game of the winter season to finish 1 point ahead of their nearest rivals in Division 5 and avoid relegation. Our B team came second in Division 7 with 24 points, only 3 behind the winners, Stratford D, so win promotion to Division 6.

The Mixed A team finished mid-table in Division 3, a good result given the quality of the opposition. The Mixed B finished 4th in Division 4.

Thanks to everyone who commits to playing, whatever the weather, and to our captains, Julie Smart, Les Carter, Maggie Higgins and Alison Sayer who have the unenviable job of rounding up enough players every match.

Summer league matches started at the end of April. A shortage of players means that we are fielding only one mixed team for the first time in many years. We have two ladies teams thanks to the commitment of a small pool of players who play most Saturday mornings. If you’ve played tennis before and are tempted to join us, you’d be very welcome. And if you would just like to play for fun then come along to one of our mix-in sessions on a Tuesday evening (7pm) or Sunday morning (10.30am). For more information, ring secretary Carol Spencer (01295 680659) or visit our website:
