Olympic Games

During the games the Collins family were lucky enough to visit the Olympic Park on three occasions. Most will have seen the stories in the press about the problems before the games got going. Our experiences were only positive and I feel moved to record my thanks in public to all involved. Screening to enter the site ran seamlessly, without delay and security staff were present but unobtrusive once inside the park. The transport system delivered us to Stratford and away again with the minimum of queuing and little delay. The whole area was spotlessly clean and the  volunteers were fantastic in every way as they greeted and managed the visitors when necessary. I can’t overlook the purpose of the event which is of course is to allow the sports people of the world to come together to perform to the highest possible standard. Well done TeamGB!

Congratulations and heart felt thanks to all involved in making the games safe, successful and entertaining.

I hope and pray the Paralympic Games go as well, if you get the chance to attend - take it!

The photo is of TeamGB cyclist, Laura Trott, sharing her first gold medal for the world record breaking team pursuit victory with her family. Yes we were that close – a life time golden moment!
