Scarecrow Weekend

15th - 16th June 2013

To keep the church of St Lawrence in good repair we have to raise thousands of pounds each year and the scarecrow weekend has always been the most profitable fund raising event. We understand that it is not to everyone’s enjoyment and some villagers would rather not take part.

Those who have chosen to join in have always had wonderful ideas year on year and we hope that you will welcome the return of the scarecrow weekend and make lots of scarecrows for people to enjoy.

I am unable to make my usual scarecrows so it would be good if a few people could get together to revamp scarecrows for the village signs entering into the village and for the village hall grounds. All of the scarecrows I have made are stored at Heather and Phil Brennans so would only need redressing.

In the future we will be grateful of any tombola prizes and any unwanted items would be ideal for the church bric a brac stall. We will also have our usual plant stall so please think of us in the spring.

Many thanks to all of you.
