Village Hall Annual General Meeting

This year’s AGM was held on April 27th.

John McKail, Treasurer, reported another satisfactory year whereby the funds in the Bank slightly exceeded last year’s total despite the expenditure of a couple of thousand pounds on improvements to the Hall.

Stuart Whittaker, who was Chairman for the last year, reported that we had enjoyed another year of great support from the Village with good attendances at a variety of different events held every month. Attendances at the Knit and Natter group that meets on alternate Thursdays during the winter months have also stayed at a reasonable level and the introduction of the Village Big Breakfast has been welcomed enthusiastically.

Stuart thanked all of the Committee for their hard work over the last few years in making the Village Hall a success and in particular thanked those who have stood down after making a great contribution: Gaynor van Dijk, Gill Stewart & Roger Goodman.

Being a registered charity, all of the ‘profit’ made at all the events from tickets sales, raffles, etc. goes towards maintaining and improving the Village Hall facility for the villagers. There are a number of exciting new events and groups planned for the Village Hall in the next twelve months, keep an eye out for updates in the Oxhill Village News and on the Village Notice Boards.

Aside from those who have stood down, a couple of people have changed roles and the new Committee is as follows:

Stuart Whittaker - Chairman (01295) 688194
Karen Barker – Deputy Chair
Jay Roberts – Secretary
John MacKail - Treasurer
Lisa Connolly - Lettings (01295) 680091
Adrian Marklew - Publicity
Derek Harbour, Tricia Harbour
Ken Bull, Annette Bull                                                                 Heather Bridgman
