Deanery News

With the celebrations for the Queen’s 90th Birthday now but a glorious memory, the Deanery Year is now beginning to slow down before coming to a rest for the summer.

If this reaches you before the very mend of the month, could I remind you that Bishop John will be leading a service of healing for those from across the Deanery on Thursday June 30th at 7.30 pm in St. Edmund’s Church, Shipston.  Anyone from across the Deanery is very welcome, as Bishop John explores the ministry of healing in all its many forms.

The next day, on Friday July 1st we are delighted that Amici a group of singers from Coventry Cathedral, will be giving A Summer Concert of inspirational choral music and readings at All Saints Church, Honington at 7.30 pm.  This is a wonderful venue for a wonderful choir: if you would like to come, tickets are £15 each to included drinks and canapes at the interval, available from:

Clare Cecil, 01608 661670, or bhew@honingtonhall.plus.net

After that I trust you will all have a glorious summer, until we meet again on October 11th.  Two thing happen that day:

During the day, +David Evans is leading a Quiet Day at Oxhill Chapel for both clergy and laity, to which members of the Deanery are warmly invited. This will run from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, and for this there is a fee of £20: tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.

That evening, at Tysoe Church, will be Deanery Synod at 7.30pm.  Yvonne Warren and Rev. Ruth Walker will be there to tell us about what has been happening at General Synod.

In the meantime, may you know God’s blessing and some rest over and renewal over the summer.

Blessings,  Jill
