Vicarage Notes Dear friends, To all enjoying holidays this month, may I wish safe travelling and happy days! Saints remembered in August tend to be neglected, but we do have the opportunity to celebrate St.Lawrence on the Sunday after his day (10th) – come along to the Patronal Festival on the 14th – all welcome! For those who enjoy local walks the setting of Winderton Church is splendid. August 21st is the one opportunity to give thanks for the life of the former “Chapel of Ease” of SS Peter and Paul, maintained as a memorial and for community purposes – all are welcome to the annual Evensong at 6.30pm. As we hopefully enjoy a lovely summer, we give thanks for the beauty of creation and pray for all who steward the land and all involved in agriculture in these changing times. There are quite a few modern hymns that speak of the need to care for creation, few are yet well known. Looking at “Hymns of Glory”, one hymn includes these words:
Touch
the earth lightly, use the earth gently, God bless,
