First and foremost we send our condolences to Joyce Clark’s family in their sad and sudden loss of their mother.

Joyce was a lesson to us all in that, for all her ups and downs, and of late there were a good many downs, I for one never heard her complain or grumble. She always looked on the bright side.

We finally managed to enjoy our “Spring” dinner at the White Hart at Newbold. Sixteen of us had a very enjoyable evening.

We are already planning our Summer outing, probably to the ‘ Alternative Hampton Court ’ near Leominster , Hereford . When dates have been finalised we hope we will be joined by friends and non-members for the day.

Our Speaker at our March meeting gave us a most interesting insight into Elizabeth I’s visit to Charlecote: how they behaved, what they had to eat and even what the weather was like. You might have thought he had been there himself.
